OCO and Oramo to Würzburg and Naantali

The Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra (OCO) and conductor Sakari Oramo performed at Mozartfest Würzburg in Germany for the first time in 2016. The concert was a success and the Orchestra and Oramo got re-invited.  Now, OCO and Oramo will perform at the renowned festival again on Sunday 9th of June. 

Before that, OCO and Oramo will be performing at the Naantali Music Festival on its 40th anniversary on Friday 7th of June. The Orchestra and Oramo are long-awaited guests in Naantali - OCO performed in Naantali in 2004, and Oramo was seen performing as a conductor on the festival in 1994.

In Naantali oboist Jean-Louis Capezzali will be performing Johann Sebastian Bach's (1685-1750) Oboe Concerto in F Major together with the Orchestra. Capezzali is a prize-winning oboist, and has made an outstanding career both as a soloist and chamber musician. 

On Mozartfest Würzburg the Orchestra will perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's (1756-1791) Horn Concerto No 3 with world-renowned horn player Radovan Vlatkovic.  

Both concert programmes include Edvard Grieg's (1843-1907) suite 'Aus Holbergs Zeit', Einojuhani Rautavaara's (1928-2016) 'The Fiddlers' and Pjotr Tchaikovsky's (1840-1893) Serenade for Strings.

Sakari Oramo has been holding the  post as Artistic Director for the Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra since 2013. From Autumn 2019 on, swedish violinist and leader Malin Broman will start as Artistic Director for the OCO.
